Member for Drummoyne, John Sidoti today held the second NSW Parliamentary Friends of Italy meeting at NSW Parliament.

Mr Sidoti is the chair and contact person for this Friendship Group which has bipartisan support from Members of Parliament.

This Parliamentary Friendship Group meeting was attended by:

  • John Sidoti MP, Member for Drummoyne
  • Greg Aplin MP, Member for Albury
  • Guy Zangari MP, Member for Fairfield
  • Ron Hoenig MP, Member for Heffron
  • Tim Crakanthorp MP, Member for Newcastle
  • Phil Donato MP, Member for Orange

“This Parliamentary Friendship Group was established in 2017 and the purpose is to build stronger ties between Italy and Australia,” Mr Sidoti said.

“It is very meaningful to promote the Italian tradition and culture with my colleagues in Parliament,” he said.

Mr Sidoti hopes that the upcoming meetings throughout the year will continue to see big turnouts with many Members of Parliament attending.

“I would like to see the Parliamentary Friends of Italy welcome prominent guest speakers from the Italian community,” he said.

The next Parliamentary Friends of Italy meeting will be held in May.
