Member for Drummoyne, John Sidoti today joined Legacy NSW at Club Burwood RSL to present Legatee, Yvonne Chatwin with a Community Service Award for the NSW Government in recognition and appreciation of her outstanding contribution to the community.
Mr Sidoti said the Award highlights the tremendous contribution that Yvonne Chatwin has made to Legacy in support of Veterans widows.

“I would like to congratulate Yvonne on being a recipient of this esteemed award.
“It is very well deserved and I would like to acknowledge her hard work and dedication to community service.” Mr Sidoti said.

Mr Sidoti used this opportunity to highlight the positive contribution of Legacy to the community fabric in the Drummoyne electorate.

“Yvonne supports approximately eighty widows in her care and regularly visits these ladies in their homes and phones them on their birthdays.

“It is because of Legacy women like Yvonne that selflessly donate their time to assisting widows and community members to help them in all sorts of ways that we have such a great community spirit in this area.” he said.

Fellow Legatee, Joyce Duncan OAM said that Yvonne Chatwin’s roles within Legacy have made her an esteemed and respected member.

“Yvonne drives the ladies to all of their various health appointments and even takes them grocery shopping.

“She has held various positions in the Western Suburbs Area Legacy including Assistant Treasurer and Secretary and for the last five years she has been the Events Manager for the Western Suburbs Area Legacy Badge Appeals Day, raising money to support the good work of Legacy.” Mrs Duncan said.
