Roads and Maritime Services will continue essential repair work from Tuesday 3 April on Lyons Road between Drummoyne and Five Dock.
Mr Sidoti said this important repair work will provide a better journey for motorists travelling along this busy stretch, between Victoria and Great North roads.
This project is funded by a $1.5billion NSW Government program to maintain the network of state roads.
“This work will not only provide safer driving conditions by minimising the wear and tear damage to roads, it will also reduce maintenance costs in the long term,” Mr Sidoti said.
“The next stage of work will involve diamond grinding the road surface, joint sealing, repainting road marking.
“Diamond grinding involves grinding down a thin layer of road to a consistent and level surface to provide a smoother road for motorists.”
This stage of work will start on Tuesday 3 April from 8pm to 5am, excluding Saturdays and public holidays. It is expected work will be completed by end of May, weather permitting.
“Roads and Maritime will aim to stage the work in different locations to minimise disruptions.”
For the safety of motorists and workers, there will be lane closures and traffic control will be in place to assist with access through the worksite.
There will also be electronic message signs along this road to provide updates on driving conditions.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
